It’s departure day, and the feelings that come with it. On a 4 hour drive from Jefferson to Houston you do have some time for reminiscing, and man, did I! It’s been one h-ll of a weekend just to put it mildly . We went on 7.30 pm and everything was cooking .!, The band had a determination, and the both of us could focus on what we do best , aiming all the energy towards the crowd , and the crowd really responded , whatever we put out they gave back tenfold!
After that amazing experience we headed for the after party at Auntie Skinners where we spent the rest of the evening with Tommy , Tracey, Lynne and Christina , soo much laughter , soo many beers. Since I was the closest thing to Keith Urban that night , it wasn’t long before they had me up on stage with a microphone in my hand , something that Andrea was very quick to document , had to say I was a little nervous , guess I lost a little of my karaoke nerves from way back when .. or maybe I wasn’t in the same state I used to be when I was doing karaoke .. one of the two..?
The competition this year was really hard , so many great acts from all around the world so it’s a very special feeling when you hear them say your name.., don’t ever think we’ll get used to that.
Once again thank you Jefferson, for bringing so much warmth and hospitality to all of us . A specia thanks to Preston and Ellen for your spirit , and being the wonderful people that you are .., and a very special thank you Tommy & Tracey for giving us the great experience of sharing your home , your company and that breakfast ... wow!!
To everyone who reads this, if you’re ever in Jefferson , you definitely want to book your stay at the Kennedy Manor, you are definitely in for a treat!
